This two day introduction course is designed to initiate you to ski touring in the best way. Starting with appropriate routes, enabling you to familiarise yourself with the equipment, learn technical tips on the climb and receive advice on your ski technique on the downhill.
Far from being an elitist sport, ski touring is accessible to anyone with a good level of fitness and skiing ability. Supervised by a qualified mountain guide or skiing instructor, this short break offers an ideal opportunity to discover this discipline, in complete safety!

FIRST HIKE TO COL RATTI
After a transfer by minibus to the start of the tour, the day begins with a briefing on ski touring equipment and safety. At the foot of the famous Roc d'Enfer, there's a gradual climb up sunny slopes to the Col Ratti (1923m) and the first descent away from the slopes, with a spectacular panorama of the Mont Blanc massif. During the day, time will be set aside for a snow and avalanche research workshop. Return to the village of Le Biot for the evening and overnight at the hotel.

COL DE COUX - LA BERTHE
Departure from the Vallée de la Manche for one of the great classics of the Chablais: the Col de Coux (1921m), a border crossing between France and Switzerland, then the often windy crest of the Berthe at 1992m. A beautiful mountain atmosphere on an accessible hike facing the Dents du Midi massif. It's also a great opportunity to spot chamois and ibex wintering on the nearby Vanet ridge. A beautiful, wild and risk-free descent, whatever the snow conditions.
5 to 6 hour hike / Elevation: +/-850m
End point around 4:00pm in Morzine/Montriond.
The programme has been drawn up on the basis of the latest information available at the time of writing; imponderables are always possible and situations beyond our control may alter its course.
Elevation: +/-500 - 850m approximately per day.
A good fitness level is required to make the most of this weekend. Ski ability, you must be confident on a red run and have and the basic principles of skiing off-piste.
Number in a group between 2 - 8 people supervised by a qualified professional (high mountain guide or skiing instructor).
Accommodation in a small family-run hotel 10km from the resort of Morzine. Rooms for 2 to 4 people with private bathroom.
Breakfast and dinner will be taken at the hotel.
Second day picnic is included and ordered at the hotel.
